Doris Gets the Bug to Visit Pumpkin Patch - Oct 28, 2008 - 8:00:00 PM
Yes, Doris got the bug to get up to Pumpkin Patch and see what's what at this major Door County festival. In fact, she found herself decorated with all kinds of nasty pumpkin bugs on the first day of Egg Harbor's Annual Pumpkin Patch Festival. She spent the two-day extravaganza at the Dovetail Gallery on the north end of the village.

Sturgeon Bay's Jefferson Street Festival - Jul 25, 2008 - 7:47:43 AM

A clown making balloons spells great kid fun!
|
Jefferson Street in Sturgeon Bay is the venue for a small but fun Saturday festival in July. On the city's northside, this street has a large number of small shops and galleries on both sides, often referred to as the Jefferson Street Shops. You can't miss them if you're headed out of town, since this is the main drag and flows into Egg Harbor Road and then back to Highway 42/57 north. It doesn't take a long time to capture the essence of the fest.

Join the Egg Harbor New Year's Parade for Zany Fun - Dec 8, 2007 - 2:31:25 PM
The Egg Harbor New Year’s Parade has been a happening for over thirty years. How many places have a parade on such a day? Isn’t that day reserved for football, recovery from New Year’s Eve, and generally schlepping around at home and accomplishing little? Not so in the charming village of
Egg
Harbor, Wisconsin, a place which suddenly comes to life on January 1 in the early afternoon. In fact, it celebrates life,
Door
County style. So how did this parade get its start? A short history lesson begins the story of one of Wisconsin's most interesting parades.

Sturgeon Bay's Christmas By The Bay Kicks Off Holiday Season - Dec 1, 2007 - 11:28:00 AM
Is there anything to do in
Door
County over Thanksgiving weekend? And what if the weather is on the blustery side? And what about the kids? Is there any fun to be had? Is Santa Claus available for personal time to make certain he knows who wants what? Are there any businesses open? Is there anything to do for nightlife?
Sturgeon
Bay’s Annual “Christmas By The Bay” festival makes it possible to answer each of the above questions with a resounding “yes”.

Birch Creek Musicians Jazz Up Settlement Fair - Aug 10, 2007 - 2:44:05 PM
The Fourth Annual Settlement Shops Fine Art Fair went off with a flair this year. The Ambassador Jazz Combo from Birch Creek played. And they played well, especially considering these seven teenage boys had only performed music together for a week or so!

A colorful event it was!
|
The event was held on Saturday, August 4 under sunny skies and fairly warm temperatures. Art and food vendors lined the courtyard between the lodging building of this property and the permanent (although primarily seasonal) retail businesses that offer anything from books to cherry pies.

Polar Bear Swim 2007 - Apr 1, 2007 - 2:38:59 PM
This year's 21st Annual New Year's Day Polar Bear Club Swim in Jacksonport almost seemed like it was being held on the wrong day. It just didn't seem cold enough. Hundreds came out for the fun.
Pictured is a hardy group of plungers posing just before doing the deed. Why do people of all ages, genders, shapes, and sizes perform this seemingly senseless act?
