DESCRIPTION OF OPTIONAL MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

Featured Property Listing: Our "Featured Property" concept places a listing's lead photo and brief description directly on our highly visible home page for a one month period, from the first to the last day of the month. Every visitor to our web site will be exposed to your listing, and since we target Door County, these impressions are valuable. Only one Featured Property for Rent and one Featured Property for Sale are displayed on the home page each month. If a visitor clicks on a Featured Property, they are taken directly to that property's listing page. This feature provides you with terrific marketing power. Not every site visitor will click through to your listing page, but every site visitor is likely to see your display! Our experience has been that the Featured Listings always receive the most hits in a given month.

Domain Name Service: If you plan to do your own supplemental marketing of your vacation property, our Domain Name Service may be a great help. An additional benefit of this service is that it is likely your listing will gain better rank in the search engines by having its own domain name. We will establish a domain name (internet address) of your choosing, subject to availability. Many people have found that using a simple, intuitive name, perhaps relating to your property, helps prospects find and remember your listing more easily. Your domain name will resolve (go) directly to your listing page on this site. Our domain name registrations include privacy for your contact information.

Photography of the property: Photography of your property is offered for those owners, managers, or agents who cannot provide photos. High quality and numerous photos give a good impression of your property. If you have no usable photos of your property, we can schedule a visit for an on location photo shoot. The property must be located in Door County. Both inside and outside photos are taken. Temporary photos of Door County scenes are available from our stock collection should you desire to have us post them on an interim basis. You can replace them yourself when your new photos are sent to you.

AVAILABILITY CALENDAR AND GUESTBOOK (RENTAL LISTINGS ONLY)

An Availability Calendar for your rental property is an important means of letting prospective guests know when your property is available and when it is not. Our web site uses a free and universal calendar service located at www.rentors.org. The dates your property is available is controlled completely by you. If you already have a property i.d. number with this service, you're all set! You can enroll and obtain such a number at no charge by clicking on the link above, or by clicking on the calendar icon on your listing page once it becomes visible. Your i.d. number must be entered into the appropriate field on the Listing setup screen in the Self Service Property Listing Module. Remember to click the "Save" button at the top or bottom of that screen. From that point on, web visitors will be taken directly to your calendar in a new browser window when they click on the icon. IMPORTANT NOTE: You'll need to login to your calendar with your username and password established with rentors.org (which we will not have) to update the calendar as often as appropriate. Please keep your Availability Calendar up-to-date. The process above automatically activates your Guestbook on the same service. The Guestbook is a useful tool to communicate testimonials to prospects. Click on the Guestbook icon on your listing page to learn more.

• To host a member's vacation property listing and home page on the DoorCountyVacationLodging.com web site, which is designed to be user-friendly, family-friendly, kid safe, simple, attractive, uncluttered, and well-maintained.

• To provide reasonable membership rates, ease of listing and home page setup, and timely customer service to all members and web visitors.

• To provide a feature-rich listing page for each property, including an Availability Calendar (updated by the client), Guestbook, up to 10 photos of the property, and a link to a map of the area. A home page is also provided to each member.

• To submit this web site to multiple search engines to maximize visibility to internet users seeking vacation property sales and rental opportunities. We will work continuously to optimize the web site for maximum exposure on the internet. 

• To provide additional opportunities for members to drive web traffic to their property listing through our "Featured Property" concept, which places a listing's lead photo and summary description directly on our web site's highly visible home page for a one month period at a time. We also provide domain name services and on location photographic services.

• To supplement the marketing of our web site and drive more traffic to it with 1) print ads and web links available from leading Door County media providers targeting Door County visitors and sales prospects,
  2) paid placements for relevant key word web searches, i.e. Google^TM AdWords^TM and Yahoo Search Marketing, and 3) other promotional opportunities we identify.
